The village of Ningel
has a second inscribed stone which is attributed to Maharaj Marjit
(1813-19 A.D.), who also holds the title of Nongpok Wairang Pamheiba.

The inscribed stone is
located at the eastern side of Ningel market place. It is believed to
have erected in the year 1814 A.D. |

The texture of the
inscribed stone is of coarse sandstone. It is 90 x 40 sq. cms in size.
The inscription consists of eighteen lines. |

The first line is
inscribed in archiac meitei script, commencing with the auspicious 'Anji'
sign and the rest are in Bengali/Assamese script.

The text of the language
is in common dialect form. The text of the inscription give details of
the inauguration of the marketplace at Ningel. The protected area is 3 x
7 sq. m. |
